Anime North and Colossalcon 2012

Wow! So much has happened since my last journal. I feel like I've been neglecting this page since I've been so busy with my photography page.
Well, ACEN photos are all finished, currently working on photos from Anime North (which was AWESOME!!! as it has been for every year that I've gone to AN).
And I just got back from Colossalcon in Ohio. Was my first time to this con, and it was AMAZING! It was at a resort that had 2 waterparks and a petting zoo!! OMG! So many animals! Parakeets, Giraffes, Zebras, Warthogs, Bunnies, Jackrabbits, Camels, Goats, Deer, Antalopes, GAH! So many!
The Giraffes were the best! One followed us as we walked around it's pen and came up to us so we could pet him. Lol their tongues are SO long too! XD
I went to Colossalcon with my friends
and 
, and we roomed with some amazing people at Colossalcon, like 
, Ackson, and a whole boat load of others. Everyone was very nice and great to hang with. It was basically 1 of 2 rooms that were the Canadian contingency of the con. Most of us were from the Greater Toronto Area, a few exceptions were from other areas, like Ottawa or London, but it was cool getting to room with a friendly and familiar group of people.
We got the to the con on Thursday (I drove for the first time to the US), and went to the waterpark for the evening. Next day I had 2 shoots scheduled, but when I wasn't shooting, I was helping out kaiser-mony with her table in Artist's Alley. She and Enter-Stinky were cosplaying Articuno and Moltres (my old cosplay from AN 2010) for the weekend, though they were in their kigurumi's for Sunday because we had to leave fast and early Sunday to get home.
I had 2 more shoots on Saturday but none on Sunday, which was a huge relief. Merch-wise, I picked up some badges for me and kaiser-mony that were Avengers related (she got the Loki badge, I got Iron Man and Thor, hehehe! My Avengers buddy) and I also got BECK: Mongolican Chop Squad for $24, and I got a huge Avengers movie poster for my apartment when I move back in September. Otherwise, I didn't spend much, just for food and gas.
Hahaha!! Live to Rise = song of the weekend (Yay Avengers! XD It was my alarm clock for the room.)
But yeah, it's been a very good month and a half since I last updated. My co-op placement is going SO well, cannot even begin to explain. Everyone at the studio is so chill. They even invited me and the other intern to an art showing at a brewery that was happening by the CN Tower. The artists I think were all graduates of the program I'm currently in, so it was very inspiring to see where they were now. Got to mingle with lots of artist types and man was the art beautiful!
I'm trying to get back into drawing a bit this summer. Usually I avoid drawing because I'm so burnt out by school, but with my co-op, it's inspiring me to get back into my art and do stuff for myself.
So hopefully I'll have some new things to post up here in the near future.

Update on life

Wow!! I feel like I've been running a mile a minute since the semester ended.
I did ACEN, still editing photos for those, just set up my schedule for Anime North photo shoots ( liquidcocaine-photos.deviantar… ), started my co-op with RAID studio and got to help them at TCAF this past weekend which was AWESOME because I got to network my ass off and got some free merch for helping out, like a shirt and a signed and drawn in book.
Best part about my co-op is it's a very flexible schedule so I'll still get to go to cons this summer! Yay! As well, being surrounded by such amazing and talented comic book artists and illustrators just makes me want to draw again. I haven't felt that way in a LONG time.
it was hilarious too, at TCAF, I was helping Karl Kerschl, who does a webcomic -> www.abominable.cc/
A fan asked him to draw in her Book of Satan, where she collected drawings by artists of satan. So what happens, Karl says I need to draw her one too. XD So I did, and it wasn't my best attempt ever, but it made me feel pretty good.
So yeah, life is pretty hectic at the moment, I need to do a lot of running around the next few weeks, getting photos edited and sent out, seeing my dad next weekend, doing a shoot with kaiser-mony tomorrow, doing co-op, plus gotta do some passport stuff, some driver's license stuff, some doctor stuff... *sigh* and I thought I'd have an easier summer.

The Avengers

You guys.... not even kidding. SUCH AN AMAZING MOVIE!!! THIS is how I've always wanted comic book movies to be! This movie does everything right! I won't spoil anything because I saw the midnight showing and I know many others haven't seen it, but seriously, GO SEE IT!! Even after I saw IronMan 2, I wasn't this excited by a comic book movie. This is now my #1 favorite comic book movie, just beating out IronMan and The Dark Knight.
It will be good if you have seen the other movies (IronMan, IronMan2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America) because some details and exposition will be lost on you, but if not, the characters are still developed enough that you understand who they are and why.
ALSO, big thing, STAY UNTIL THE END OF THE CREDITS!!!! Not even an option, don't leave early, stay until the all the lights come up. DO EET!
So, yeah. Highly recommend!
Also, I saw The Cabin in the Woods the day before, also a VERY good movie! If you can stand some horror gore, I'd say watch it. It is so well done.

Co-op Placement!

Hey, you guys! So sorry it's been a while since I've posted a "normal" journal up here. I've been a bit more active on my photography account. But I am still around, just mainly a lot of stuff I'm working on.
One of which was obtaining a co-op position for my program. Today I finally have a position! And it's like a dream job for me!
I'll be working with The Royal Academy of Illustration & Design (R.A.I.D. Studio) in Toronto. This is a great position because I'll be working with some amazing illustrators as well as comic book artist's like Marcus To, Willow Dawson, and Francis Manapul. I'll mainly be working with Willow, but we'll move around and help whoever needs it at the studio. PLUS! I only have to go into the studio roughly 2 days a week, the rest of the work I do at home, which means it's going to be easier to get to conventions this summer! If anything, I'll probably be going to a few to help with the studio and it's booths. So hopefully this all works out.
I'm so happy that I have a position because it's been a huge stress to go to interviews and apply for jobs while trying to keep up energy for school and get projects done for deadlines. Now we've got 4 weeks left, I can focus on my final projects now that I have a place to work this summer.

One of which was obtaining a co-op position for my program. Today I finally have a position! And it's like a dream job for me!
