YAY!!! Thanks again Daniel! I finally got these inks done after about a week. Work had me almost every day, so I worked on this at night before bed.
Daniel has such a great style to his stuff and I always love working on it. I colored an image of his a while back of Rogue from X-Men, before I knew how to ink. But even so, I still think it's one of the best things I've colored, and a favourite pinup.
As for this, it took me longer then normal to ink it, but it is such a great cover, I wanted to finish it. ^__^ I may even consider coloring it... I'm tempted. I believe it's a take on the Wizard of Oz. I don't know the full story, but I love the look! Thanks, Stalk!
Okay I first clicked on the thumbnail at 7:39 pm. The little clock at the bottom of my computer screen is now telling me it's 7:50 pm.
I don't know what to say, it's amazing. You've taken my rather pedestrian linework and crafted something much more beautiful. Your crisp linework is really exceptional. I have to ask, how long have you been inking? Your technique is very, very solid.
My favorite thing amongst all this is Dorothy's eyes...her eyes. How did you do that? In the pencils she looks a bit lost, confused but in the inks you gave her these eyes...
It almost hurts to look at them.
That's a million shades of awesome and I'm very impressed which is actually quite hard to do. You found the central focus of this cover (not the flashy rendering, composition, or faces) but her eyes and you gave them such power and emotion and for the life of me I can't figure out how you did it but it's pure genius.
Damn, Karen I don't know how else to gush. I haven't seen such sharp inks over my pencils in ages.
It's now 8:10 pm...it's taken me this long to type all this praise because my finger keeps going to the mouse and scrolling up to take a look at the piece again.
wow... i'm kind of... speechless. you have no idea what it means to hear that you like the inks. i've only been inking for about... a year, maybe? and even so, i don't think i do it the conventional way like the pro's do.
I actually couldn't get her eyes the way you did them, and it was uber pissing me off. but i'm glad you like them anyways. ^__^
i'd be very happy to try inking or coloring for you some more in the future. i love handling your style.
thanks again, and fantastic work on the pencils. inks would have been nothing without great pencils.
